CASE STUDIES

	Case 1. After working hours, a 41-year-old farmer feels pruritus, burns, reddening and back ache.
	Case 2. After having ingested a chemical product, a 2-year-old child arrives at the hospital with cough, suffocation, and skin damage. A child’s relative shows a container labeled “parathion” (organophosphorus product). The clinic treats mainly patients intoxicated with pyrethroid products.
	Case 3. After having worked with pesticides, a farmer arrives at the emergence service with chemical pneumonitis.
	Case 4. A 42-year-old woman was rescued from the kitchen of her apartment, which was totally contaminated with carbon monoxide, she arrived at the emergency room in a deep coma.
	Case 5. At 16.30 p.m., a 25-year-old woman is found at her home with symptoms of sleepiness. She says that she has ingested kerosene and tablets of diazepam and that has not vomited. A paramedic examines her and diagnoses drowsiness, generalized hypotonia, and hemodynamic stability. He decides to induce the vomit, carries out a gastric lavage, and refers the patient to the closest hospital.
	Case 6. A patient is anxious and can neither recall the current date day nor recognize the place where he is. He cannot think straight or recall past events, and seems to have hallucinations.
	Case 7. A patient who has probably been intoxicated is unconscious, his pupils show difference in size, his nose is bleeding, and has body contusions.
	Case8. A two-year-old child suffers from vomiting and diarrhea; has chapped lips, dry mouth, and sunken eyes; and cannot urinate for several hours. His pulse is weak and fast, with accelerated breathing and persistent skin fold.
	Case 9. An unconscious patient has a notorious yellowish color in his skin and eyes. His relatives say that during the past days he has complained about pain in the abdomen and was vomiting.
